Allie & Justin October 10, 2020
This was the one that sparked my love for elopements and adventure weddings.
I arrived early to scope out the mountainside and make sure I could get to the top before everyone else and have ample time to hike with all my equipment. What I thought would be an easy 2 miles turned out to be the most challenging climb of my life because of the 50lbs+ of gear on my back. I took periodic breaks not to overwhelm my body. This was a lesson in 1. packing light and 2. why you pay the extra $300 for a carbon fiber tripod.
I may not have looked my best that day (there was no coming back from the messy bun look), but I definitely felt my best. Justin and the kids arrived first, followed by close family and then finally Allie for their first look. Everything was simply lovely. After the ceremony, we took some drone shots, and I left them at the summit for their post-wedding picnic in the clouds.
Hamza & Mary June 12, 2020
In our years of filming weddings, we never thought something as severe and unexpected as a pandemic would change the way of weddings for a very long time. Hamza and Mary’s wedding would be limited to 15 people or less, and all guests had to be socially distant at all times.
While scoping out locations for their first look, Hamza suggested a Gazebo in his neighborhood. Although I don’t consider myself much of a decorator, I saw a window of opportunity to make this extra special for them. That morning I went to Michaels to grab supplies, and Hamza and I quickly staple-gunned the window liners and flowers to the wooden gazebo. I think it turned out okay! And that’s the story of how I went from being a filmmaker to a wedding decorator… just kidding!
Kauri & Nate July 22, 2019
I have so many incredible things to say about this couple. I met Kauri while attending college and had always admired her creativity and work ethic. She is a filmmaker and a total creative genius. I had the pleasure of filming their wedding at Muchas Uvas Winery, which by the way, is an incredible new wedding venue in Virginia that I highly recommend. On top of a grassy hilltop, Nate & Kauri said their handwritten vows and pronounced themselves husband and wife.
Kauri told me the day we sat down to plan their wedding film that she hoped it would lightly rain on her wedding day, you know, just for added emotion.
Just as they said, "I do," it started to softly rain. If that's not the universe affirming that these two people were meant to be together, I don't know what is.
Adrianne & Dion October 9, 2018
We took a road trip to Philadelphia to see this gorgeous couple. Adrianne and Dion are some of the most authentic and kind people I’ve ever met. Capturing these special moments with the two of them was truly an honor; not only because they are great friends of ours, but also because they are extremely talented and supportive people.
I’ll never forget just how awesome it felt to see these two genuinely enjoying holding each other, and laughing when they tried to be serious but just couldn’t hold in their smiles ♡ I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them and their fur babies.
Cheers to Adrianne and Dion.
